Please note: while this survey will work on any device, it will render best on a laptop or larger screened tablet.

Background

This poll marks our second year of exploratory polling around the topic of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).  Our Aerial and Aquatic Robotic Research (AARR) Group and undergraduate students in ESRM 370 (Introduction to Remotely Piloted Systems) at California State University Channel Islands are seeking to more objectively understand potential uses of and attitudes towards this burgeoning technology.  This poll is a modified version of a poll previously released in the spring of 2015.  After much feedback from that initial poll, we edited and revised that instrument to chat it into the survey instrument we have now released in 2016.  Our hope is to conduct annual polling each spring to create an objective, longitudinal assessment of this burgeoning field and better inform the public discourse around UAV use and policy.

Results

Check back here at our AARR Blog in late April/Early May for the results from both this year’s and last year’s survey.  Summary results from all our UAV-related polling will be made available widely.

  1. I think drones are a great idea if they’re used for lawful purposes. They need to make laws though.
