The first OpenROV is complete and currently under testing with numerous test dives completed. The team is presently moving forward with the construction of the 2nd OpenROV. Within the next two weeks this ROV should be complete and ready for testing as well.
Additionally, we are preparing to begin construction on two MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education) ROVs: Pufferfish and Triggerfish. For more information about MATE, visit their website at http://www.marinetech.org. Our team is building these platforms in order to bring the technology into our local middle and high schools. They will be used to teach children in grades 6-12 how to build ROVs and encourage the use of these tools in scientific research.
